An intergenerational project

The vacant space made available by BinHôme's move is an opportunity to develop a new and original programme close to Place Flagey.

The project aims to fill a gap in the northern part of the commune of Ixelles, namely access to housing for the elderly, a welcoming semi-public space dedicated to young children and a public green space within the block. The project, run jointly by BinHôme and the Commune d'Ixelles, is subsidised by the Brussels-Capital Region.

The Karbon' architectural firm has been selected to design an environmentally-friendly communal home for senior citizens, as well as a bright and welcoming "café-poussette" set in a green setting, open to the public during the day and offering an ideal place to encourage links between generations.
